Run for Coffee

In the need of a bit of motivation for your next run?   Run for Coffee!!  The extra bonus of a tasty cup of jo might be just the trick to nudge you out of bed on a cold wet dark morning. Iphone app Coffeespot helps you find an indie coffee shop near by or if you are like me, it has to be Peets.   There are three within a mile of my house so I have options.

Up the hill, the Peets near Faletti’s is on the way to GG park so if a longer run is what I need, then this is the right choice.  On Sundays, I pop my shopper bag in my pocket and run to the Peets near Civic Center to take a stroll through the Heart of the City Farmers Market for fresh produce.

For the quick little keeping-flexible-run the day before a race, I run flat to the Castro Peets on Market.  The stretch between Peet’s and Harvest on Market near Castro became my personal landmark when running was jogging and the need for motivation was my constant companion.   A steaming cup of coffee with real cream was just the perfect blend of addictive substance and warm soothing comfort to get me to run the 2.25 round trip miles, virtuous and triumphant!
